Located 15 miles south of Wilmington, Carolina Beach is a truly rich coastal community. Nestled between the Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean, water sport enthusiast find joy in surfing, paddle boarding, fishing, boating, and kayaking. Island living is made easy by the many local restaurants, shops, and two grocery stores where all your essentials can be found without having to cross the bridge. Carolina Beach State Park is a fantastic place for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the Island with many trails connecting and running along the Cape Fear River. Fort Fischer offers amazing hikes and views as well running the southern end of the island. The Fort Fisher State Historic Site and North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher are also found on the southernmost part, right before you find yourself able to hop on a ferry for a day trip to Southport. Whether a year-round resident or beach vacationer, there is lot to love about Carolina Beach.
