Area Overview
This 26-mile-long barrier island is located south of Jacksonville and Camp LeJuene, sitting 40 miles northeast of Wilmington. The island is roughly equidistance between the Crystal Coast and the beaches of the Cape Fear Region. Topsail is made up of three main town, North Topsail Beach situated on the north part of the island, Surf City located in the middle, and Topsail Beach as the southern part. The infamous Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center resides in Surf City, with tours running daily and community outreach events yearly. Plenty of local restaurants to frequent and enjoy in this small town feel beach community. All of the favorite water activities are enjoyed around the island including surfing, swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding to name a few.
